Walt Disney World Wedding

J&A Wedding-41

October 6, 2015 my husband and I were married on Disney World’s Boardwalk and I have absolutely no regrets. Everything went smoothly and was 100% magical.

Disney offers three different wedding packages to choose from: Memories, Escape, and Wishes. We chose the Escape package, which is the middle package. This includes 18 guests, a wedding cake, sparkling cider and/or champagne, Mickey + Minnie wedding cake topper, bouquet for the bride, boutonniere for the groom, two consecutive hours of photography from a Disney photographer, four consecutive hours limousine service, violinist, and a photo album. We wanted a small, intimate wedding, so this package was perfect for us.

Our wedding coordinator was so helpful and got back to us pretty quickly to answer all our questions leading up to our wedding day. I do not know if it is customary, but our wedding coordinator periodically sent us little packages to help with our wedding day. These packages included a Cinderella shoe bag, a Prince Charming coin, collar stays for the groom, a bouquet charm for the bride, and Mr. + Mrs. handkerchiefs. The little gifts were so much fun to receive and made the anticipation for our wedding day grow even more.

We were able to have Erin McKenna’s Bakery make our wedding cake since I’m vegan and gluten-free. We chose a pumpkin chocolate-chip cake, with an off-white vanilla buttercream frosting. The cake was so good, even our non-vegan guests were raving about it!

You can bring in an outside vendor to do your photography and/or wedding video. My husband insisted we have an outside vendor do the video. I suppose that’s what you get when you marry someone who does videography for a living. Soo picky. We decided to stick with the Disney photographer to shoot our wedding, because it was a little more cost efficient for us. However, if there were one thing we would change about our wedding, it would be the photography. I’ve heard mixed reviews about Disney’s wedding photographers. Our pictures weren’t bad, but they weren’t exactly what we were hoping for. Thankfully one of our videographers was able to get some snaps while filming our day.

I think what I liked most about the planning process with Disney Weddings is that they give you a list of selections to choose from. I.e. bouquets, boutonnieres, wedding cake designs, etc.  I had an idea of what I wanted, and the options helped greatly in narrowing down my choices. Overall I highly recommend getting married in Disney. They do so well at making your wedding day magical.

(My dress, shoes, and jeweled belt are BHLDN. My hair piece is Etsy. My husbands attire is from J.Crew.)

Anyone else get married in Disney or thinking about it? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
